Mamra is a word that specifies crunchy texture of a snack and the crunchy texture of Iranian almond is the reason for its name "Mamra almond"

Mamra Almonds are the most prestigious and expensive almonds; Almonds have long been revered for their versatility, delicious taste, and numerous health benefits.

These almonds are different in shape, size and even nutritional values.

different types of Mamra almond are: Mini, ESB, ES, A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A.

 It is also known as Mamra Badam; Mamra Badams have cervical shape and are one of the most expensive almonds.

Mamra almonds are cultivated in the cold-rocky plains of Iran, in Afghanistan and in the Kashmir valley of India. This is because the Mamra Badam trees need sandy, or clayey soils a pH of about 1.5% for best yield.

Mamra almond contains up to 50% oil whereas normal California almond contains 25–30% oil in it. Mamra Almonds Are Rich Source Of Proteins, Amino Acids, and Minerals & Vitamins. this almond is also beneficial for pregnant ladies.

Mamra Badams are richer in oil compared to other almond types and help increasing the good cholesterol. Mamra Badams are full of monounsaturated fat, vitamins, minerals, calcium, magnesium and antioxidants providing different health benefits like reducing cholesterol levels, improving heart health and protecting against different illnesses.

Generally Badams of any variety are best consumed after soaking and it is the same for Mamra Badams. The skin of badams prohibits absorption of nutrients. Hence soaking overnight then removing the skin before consuming gives best benefits of badams.

  1. American/Spanish almonds: Most available and also the most inexpensive variety of almonds. Preferred for regular consumption because it has less fat than all other almond types.
  1. Indian Gurbandi almonds: Popular variety of Badams that are small in size, and bitter-sweet in taste. They are moderately priced. Also preferred for regular consumptions and festive occasions.
  1. Iran/Afghanistan Mamra almonds: These almonds are one of the most expensive almonds in the market.
