DESCRIPTION

Mamra Almonds are also known as Mamra Badam or Mamra Giri which is cultivated in cold plains of Iran, Afghanistan and Kashmir in India; They are far more superior Than other types of Almond, that is why they are the most expensive almond among other kinds of almonds.

It is worth mentioning that Mamra is the Sanskrit word for almond, but in Hindi, the name for almond is Badam.

Mamra almond have cervical shape and it has a unique and sweet flavour; it can also be bitter depending on its type. Fresh Mamra almond has a green color skin and its wooden skin is hard. This kind if almond has higher oil content than others and contains monounsaturated fat, vitamins, minerals, calcium, magnesium and antioxidants providing different health benefits like reducing cholesterol levels, improving heart health and protecting against different illnesses.

Mamra almond are usually harvested in October and September; When the green skin dries and cracks, it is the proper  time for harvesting the fruit.
