DESCRIPTION
Badami pistachio is a kind of Iranian pistachio that is known as semi-long pistacho and belongs to the long pistachio category. As its name suggests, Badami pistachio is similar to almond in shape and it is also similar to Ahmad Aghaei pistachio but the difference is that Badami is smaller in hight and it has stained shell. It is big and long and the shell is creamy bone and glum, the nut outer color is brownish purple and its internal color is green. they have different sizes including 26-28, 28-30, 30-32 and 32-34.
The harvesting time for Badami pistachio starts in early September. It is generally harvesting from Zarand reigon of Kerman and also from Ardakan and Yazd provinces.
This kind of pistachio, like other types, is a great source of protein, fiber, healthy fats, anti-inflammatory traits, antioxidants and vitamin B6. It is a perfect snack if you are on a diet because of its great amount of protein; it makes you feel full for a longer time. on top of that pistachio is considered as a good snack for diabetic people with special dietaries. It also contains Omega 3 which has positive effect on fetal brain growth.
Persian pistachio was known as "Green gold" from ancient times.
